SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 5TH, 2026 - PARROT HEADS ON THE PARKWAY AT EXPLORER PARK, ROANOKE, VA - 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM - LAWN OPENING AT 4:30 PM. The Jimmy Buffett-themed island celebration is held on the lawn outside the Twin Creeks Brewpub, 56 Roanoke River Parkway Rd, Roanoke, VA and features live music from the TommyKEYS Duo and the Party Parrot Band. Tickets - Adults $10 in advance or $12 at the gate, Children 7-11 - $6.00 in advance or $8.00 at the gate, Kids 6 and under FREE. You can purchase your tickets online through the Roanoke County Parks Ticket Portal or online via Showpass. Food and drinks are available for purchase on premises. Bring a chair. NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK ALLOWED!
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2026 -- HEALING STRIDES APPLE SMASH CONCERT AT CARTER PARK, LOCATED RIGHT OFF OF RT. 220 IN FRONT OF CARTER BANK, BOONES MILL, VA - GATES OPEN 5:00 PM - ADMISSION FREE -- MUSIC BY SUPAFLY 5 BAND -- FOOD TRUCKS, BEER CIDER TRUCK AND A DEDICATED KIDS ZONE. All event proceeds directly benefit the local non-profit Healing Strides of Virginia. Bring a chair.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12TH, 2026 -- APPLE FESTIVAL IN DOWNTOWN HISTORIC BOONES MILL, VA (near Carter Park/Route 220) -- 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM -- ADMISSION IS FREE -- All proceeds support the local non-profit Healing Strides of Virginia, which provides equine-assisted therapy. Local food vendors and apple-themed treats (including fresh apple butter and BBQ), crafters, artisans and commercial exhibits. Live music performances by local bands. Kids entertainment and family zones.
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 17TH, 2026 -- SOCIAL AT THE JOLLY GRAPE, 1418 GRANDIN ROAD, ROANOKE, VA -- 5:30 PM. We have an area reserved for the Parrot Heads. Free wine tasting with the purchase of a bottle of wine or the wine tasting is $12 per person. You can bring your own snacks and food or order off the menu. Beer and soft drinks are also available.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19TH, 2026 -- THE ROCKY MOUNT FEST IN ROCKY MOUNT, VA -- 3:00 PM - 10:00 PM -- In Downtown Rocky Mount along Franklin Street. Free to attend. Full day of Live music, food trucks and a beer garden. This is a DORA (Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area) event which allows you to take an alcoholic drink from one of their local establishments and explore the festival. Music line-up coming soon.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20TH, 2026 -- JAMMY BUFFETT BLOCK PARTY AT THE ALLEY, FORK IN THE ALLEY BRICKOVEN PUB, 2123 CRYSTAL SPRINGS AVE., SW, ROANOKE, VA 24014 -- 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Tropical themed outdoor concert featuring the Jammy Buffett Band. Guests are highly encouraged to wear tropical attire (hawaiin shirts, leis, and flip flops). Coconut Bras are optional. Bring a chair just in case the patio seating fills up. There is a $5.00 cover charge to attend. Beverages and food are available for purchase. Please get there early as to get a good seat.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27TH, 2026 -- POUR WITH A PURPOSE AT STONEY BROOK VINEYARDS, 516 STONEY BATTERY ROAD, TROUTVILLE, VA 24175 -- 12:00 PM TO 6:00 PM -- BENEFICIARY IS THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS VIRGINIA -- Vendor in the Vineyard Shopping Experience - 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Firecraft Food Truck - 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Live Music by Mark Folks on the back sipping porch - 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Since the seating on the back porch is limited, it is highly recommended to arrive early to secure a spot before the music begins.
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 6TH, 2026 -- PHBR SOCIAL AND MEETING AT FRANK'S ITALIAN RESTAURANT AT BRAMBLETON, 3743 BRAMBLETON AVENUE, ROANOKE, VA. Social at 5:30 PM and meeting at 7:00 PM. Remember to bring in your donations of pet food, towels, newspapers for Angels of Assissi.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17TH, 2026 -- HIGHWAY CLEANUP ON STARLIGHT ROAD, ROANOKE, VA. The Parrot Heads are teaming up the Izaak Walton League of Roanoke to do a highway cleanup so as we can do our environmental obligation. More info to follow.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17TH, 2026 -- OKTOBERFEST AT FABLES & FEATHERS WINERY, 2117 BRUNO DRIVE, GOODVIEW, VA -- 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM -- WINE, BEER, FOOD TRUCKS (KERSTINS KITCHEN, KEFI GREEK FOOD), MUSIC BY THE ODD FELLOWS - 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM; SUNSHINE - 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM; MATT WEEKS - 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM. You can bring your own food and snacks. No outside alcohol! A group of us will be meeting at 12 noon to enjoy the festivities.
